Dec 2009 Sat Dec 5, 9.30am to 6pm Murshid Sharif Munawir Graham This seminar will look at current research on achieving happiness, seeing what works and what does not work. However, modern research has not investigated the spritual aspects of happiness beyond observing that those involved in religion are happier than those not. Sufi teachers emphasize the importance of happiness in life and a rich tradition of spiritual practice has been developed over the centuries. We will explore the spiritual dimension of this quest and learn to apply some of these practices such as concious breath, visualization and sacred sound. In particular the teachings of Hazrat Inayat Khan will be explored in depth. Murshid Sharif Munawwir Graham was a professor of Comparative Literature and Religion. On retirement, he moved to France to work full time in the Sufi archives.  He worked closely with his teacher, Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan, on several of books.
